Holland
I take the 3hr train up to Amsterdam, then change for Leiden to meet Miranda. She is Dutch and returning to Holland for holidays from working in Sydney.
Its always great to meet, the last time was in Brisbane for the disaster drive to Sydney! This time the weather is typically Dutch, grey and cool.
We stroll around the quaint town of Leiden, and eat Dutch food of meat Croquettes and small pancakes.
That afternoon, I meet up with Maria for dinner. There is an amazing Indonesian cafe across the road and we enjoy an excellent meal. The next day sees me chill out at home watching DVDs and eating junk food. Happy. I watch and enjoy BlackBook, The Holiday, Shut up and Sing and A Fond Kiss.
Dinner is out in the suburbs with Maria's family, Shirley makes chicken wings! We walk with the boys out to the fields and play on the slippery dip and swings.
I find out when Dutch people graduate from High School, they put out a Dutch flag from the house and hang their school bag on the top of it!
Next morning I am up at the crack of dawn, back to Central train station and back to Maastricht.
