Champagne, France

The rain. Perfect weather all day then it starts and finishes at the Belgium Borders!

After Spa, we arrive in Epernay, in the Champagne region of France. It is the home of Moet & Chandon.

We eat heartily in town for dinner, including flutes of champagne. My love affair with duck continues. Its just so good.

The next morning, we are up early and find Moet & Chandon next to the Tourism Office. We take a tour inside the cellars and caves, which is fascinating. 8 Million bottles underground!!
The tour finishes with a flute of their finest, its quite a classy place to be sure.

Next we drive 300Km or so of the Champagne Circuit for cars. Its a wonderful drive, weaving through vineyards and Champagne houses...finishing in Reims. The perfect thing for the city slicker. Its summer warm and bright, and there are not too many tourists about, perfect.
